Home About Us

Who We Are  我们是谁

We are a Hunan-based travel company. Not a platform. Not a reseller. A small team that designs and operates journeys across China‘s most wanted places — with local partners we know by name.

Our Philosophy

What We Mean by “Into”

Into Wild

Into Wild

China‘s wild side is not only in the mountains. It is in the sandstone pillars of Zhangjiajie before the tour buses arrive, the bamboo forests outside Chengdu where pandas chew through morning, the coastal hills of Qingdao where the city disappears behind you, the island paths of Xiamen where the sea decides the pace. We take you into the wild places that organized tours skip.

Into Wonder

Into Wonder

Wonder is not a checklist. It is the moment the Forbidden City’s axis opens in front of you. The second you realize Shanghai’s art deco riverfront and its sci-fi skyline are the same city. The afternoon you get lost in Chongqing and find a hotpot place with no English menu and the best food of your trip. Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Chongqing — each one holds a different kind of wonder. We design routes that leave room for it.

Into Welcome

Into Welcome

Travel is not about places. It is about people. The hutong family in Beijing who tells you which breakfast stall to trust. The tea farmer in Hangzhou who lets you taste the difference between first and second flush. The Tujia grandmother in Zhangjiajie who teaches you how to pound ciba. The boatman in Xiamen who names every island on the horizon. We work with local people in all ten destinations — not because it is a marketing strategy, but because it is the only way we know how to travel.

Our Journey

How We Got Here

2016

GeoHunan started in Zhangjiajie. For years, we watched inbound visitors arrive with a single stop on their itinerary — see the pillars, take the photos, leave. They were missing the rest of China. And China was missing them.

2018

The problem was not a lack of information. It was a lack of connection. The best local guides, the family-run guesthouses, the small restaurants with no English menu — they were invisible to the platforms. So we started building a different kind of network. One based on people we have met, stayed with, eaten with, and trusted for years.

Today

Today, China Geo covers ten destinations. We are still Hunan-based. We are still small. We still answer messages ourselves. But when you travel with us, you are not booking a package. You are joining a conversation that started in Hunan and now reaches across China.

Beer, beaches, and German bricks by the Yellow Sea.

Xiamen

Xiamen

Island breezes, colonial lanes, and seafood straight off the boat.

The Process

How We Work

01

Listen

Tell us which of the ten destinations you want, what you don’t want, and how you like to move.

02

Design

We build a route across cities, not just within them. Two people or ten. Five days or fifteen. Fast or slow.

03

Connect

Every guide, driver, guesthouse, and restaurant is someone we know personally in that destination. No platform subcontracting.

04

On the Ground

One point of contact for the whole trip. A person in China who can change your plan the same day if weather turns or you decide to stay longer.

Our Service Promise

✓

Small by design. Groups of 2–10. No buses. No waiting for strangers.

✓

No shopping stops. No commission restaurants. If we suggest a place, it is because we eat there.

✓

One conversation, ten destinations. You do not need to coordinate between different local agencies.

✓

Flexible payment. A deposit to confirm, the rest when you arrive.

✓

Honest advice. If a route is not right for you, we will say so.

Our Beliefs

What We Stand For

The principles that guide every trip we design.

Real places, real people.

We do not stage cultural performances or manufacture “authentic” experiences. If a village welcomes visitors, it is because the community chose to, on its own terms.

Small is not a limitation. It is the point.

Smaller groups mean less impact, more flexibility, and a better chance of actually talking to someone who lives there.

We are guests too.

Hunan is our home, but every city and village we enter is someone else’s home. We travel with that in mind.

One conversation, ten destinations.

China is not a checklist. It is a set of connections. We build routes that connect places, and people, without reducing them to stops on a bus.
